Dear Creative Community,
Spring! Finally!
Now that warmth and sunshine are occasionally peeking their friendly faces through the cold curtains of winter, I look forward to sharing some cozy winter events and some forward-looking springtime news.
My latest watercolor workshop is focused on the beauty of positive words. In January local creatives gathered to express positivity through painting. Together we painted words of love, gratitude and joy.
What positive words resonate for you? Are they words of reflection, action or emotion? Words that remind you of seasons past, or words that pull you toward a season of growth and hope? One word can be all it takes to bring us a moment of joy, peace, contentment.
This Winter’s Small Works Show was a lovely community event. Along with a group of talented artists, my paintings were on display for the month of December.
One painting that always makes me smile is a portrait of a beloved dog dressed as Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring.
I call it Who’s a Good Girl…with a Pearl Earring?!
I’m excited to announce I now have signed prints available in my shop of this popular work. Printed on beautiful Hahnemuhle paper, the archival ink prints come ready for framing. If you decide to put a print in your home or would like a custom portrait of your beloved pet, I hope that you also smile every time you see it.
As we move in to the next season, I hope you find words and images that make you smile, bring you hope, and give you a moment of joy, peace and gratitude.
Be creative!
Mary
